NGC 2507  Pretty faint, pretty small, round, somewhat brighter
in the middle at 100X.  There is a 10th mag star one minute
to the southwest.  NGC 2514 is in the field.

NGC 2513  Pretty faint, pretty large, elongated 1.8 X 1 in PA 45
and brighter in the middle at 220X.  There are two companions, one
to the north, one to the west, both are faint, small and round.

NGC 2514  Faint, small and round at 100X.

NGC 2522  Faint, pretty small, elongated 1.5 X 1 in PA 30 with
a bright middle at 100X.  There is a very faint companion in
the field, I can only see it with averted vision.

NGC 2526  Faint, small, much elongated 2.5 X 1 in PA 110 with
a bright middle at 220X.  This object is incorrectly marked
NGC 2516 on Uranometria 2000.

NGC 2545  Faint, small, elongated 1.5 X 1 in PA 165 and brighter
in the middle at 100X.

NGC 2560  Very faint, small, round and not brighter in the middle
at 165X.

NGC 2562  Pretty faint, pretty small, elongated 1.5 X 1 in PA 135
and has a bright middle at 165X.

NGC 2563  Pretty faint, pretty small, round and somewhat brighter
in the middle at 165X.

NGC 2565  Faint, small, elongated 2 X 1 in PA 0 and much brighter
in the nucleus at 100X.  Going to 220X will split a bizarre double
nucleus in this galaxy, the two nuclei are about 12 th mag and
separated by 2 arc seconds.

NGC 2569  Faint, pretty small, little elongated in PA 45 and little
brighter in the middle at 220X.  NCG 2570 is to the north.

NGC 2570  Faint, pretty small, round and somewhat brighter in the
middle at 220X.

NGC 2592  Pretty faint, pretty small, round and has a bright
middle at 165X.  A very faint, small and round companion is
visible with averted vision only, it about 10' south.

NGC 2604  Very faint, pretty large, round, somewhat brighter in
the middle at 165X.  There is a double star 5' south, it is a
matched pair of 11th magnitude.  The companion galaxy is averted
vision only, it is extremely faint, pretty small and round.

NGC 2608  Pretty faint, pretty small, somewhat elongated (1.5 X 1)
in PA 60 and much brighter in the middle at 100X.







NGC 2619  Pretty faint, small, elongated 2 X 1 in PA 30, much
brighter in the middle with a bright nucleus at 135X.

NGC 2623  Faint, pretty small, somewhat elongated, not much at
100X.

NGC 2632 (M44) Very bright, very, very large, round, not rich, 
little compressed.  The Beehive is easily naked eye, even from a 
site that is somewhat light polluted.  Using a tube of black paper
rolled into a light shield, I could spot three stars involved
with the cluster just using my naked eye.  This cluster in very
nice in the 11 X 80 finder, with 23 stars resolved against a dim
glow.  Stepping up the 13" at 60X, M 44 almost overflows the
field of view of the eyepiece.  It is very bright, extremely
large, rich and not compressed.  I counted 90 stars resolved
with the Giant Erfle eyepiece.  This is from Sentinel on a
good night.   There are several nice chains of stars winding 
through the cluster and a nice triple star is just to the west
of the center of the group.  Using the 6" f/6 at 30X I counted
38 stars in M-44 with several nice pairs and two triples.  The
Beehive is nice in the 38mm eyepiece, but it overfills the field
in the 22mm Panoptic.

Binoculars  Vicksberg  S+T=7  
8X25--11stars, bright, large, not compressed
10x50--27 stars, several wide pairs, large about 1/3 of the field of view
11X80--44 stars (honest!), several in nice pairs, one triple star, a few are light yellow an one is light orange.  Definately not compressed, actually somewhat scattered.

NGC 2661  Very faint, pretty small, round and somewhat brighter
in the middle at 220X.  I found this galaxy at 100X, but it
was with averted vision.  There is an 11th mag star about one
arc minute to the west.

NGC 2672  Pretty bright, pretty large, elongated 2 X 1 in PA 45
and much brighter in the middle at 220X.  There is a companion
galaxy superimposed on the east side of NGC 2672, it is NGC 2673
and it is pretty faint, small and round.

NGC 2679  Pretty faint, small, round and brighter in the middle
at 100X.  There is a companion 2' south it is faint, very small
and round.

NGC 2682  Very bright, very large, extremely rich and somewhat
compressed with stars from 10th to 14th magnitude.  I counted
41 stars in the Northwest quadrant of M 67, which yields an
estimate of 164 total stars at 135X.  Going to 220X makes this
excellent cluster fill the field of view with beautiful chains
of stars and several lovely dark lanes that meander through
the cluster like dusky rivers.  The 11 X 80 finder will resolve
the 8 brightest stars in M 67.

6" f/6, seen but not resolved in 10X50 finder, 14mm eyepiece--
41 stars resolved, many pairs, nice chains, a "dark finger"
of material obscures a part of the cluster.

Sentinel 13" S=6 T=7  11X80 3 stars resolved across the face of
an obvious glow, elongated 1.8X1 in PA 135, not brighter middle
100X--very bright, very large, very rich, somewhat compressed,
75 stars counted, including several delicate pairs.  This
excellent cluster takes up about one third of the field
of view.  150X feels like now I have resolved all the stars
that are available to the 13", I estimate 120 stars resolved
by counting 30 in NE quadrant.  Several delicate chains of
faint and pretty faint stars, one dead center in cluster.
There is a dark marking on the NW side.


NGC 2720  Very faint, small, somewhat brighter in the middle,
little elongated (1.5 X 1) in PA 130 at 100X.

NGC 2725  Very faint, pretty small, round, tough at 100X.

NGC 2730  Extremely faint, pretty large, round, this tough
galaxy is averted vision only.

NGC 2735  Faint, pretty small, elongated 2 X 1 in PA 100 and
not brighter in the middle at 220X.

NGC 2737  Pretty faint, pretty small, round and somewhat brighter
in the middle at 220X.






NGC 2738  Pretty faint, pretty small, round and somewhat brighter
in the middle at 220X.  There are two companion galaxies in the
field with NGC 2737 and 2738, they are both very faint, small
and round.

NGC 2749  Pretty bright, pretty small, much brighter in the middle,
elongated 1.5 X 1 in PA 90.  Two very faint companions in the
field of view at 100X, both at small and round.

NGC 2750  Faint, pretty large, round and brighter in the middle
at 165X.

NGC 2764  Faint, pretty small, somewhat brighter in the middle,
elongated 1.5 X 1 in PA 10.  Not much at 135X.

NGC 2766  Very faint, very small, round and not brighter in the
middle at 165X.

NGC 2775  Bright, large, elongated 1.8 X 1 in PA 165 and much
brighter in the middle at 220X.  The arms of this galaxy are
nicely mottled and the central core is elongated 2 X 1 in the same
PA as the main body of the galaxy.

NGC 2789  Faint, pretty small, bright middle with a stellar
nucleus is good seeing at 220X.  There are two companions, one
the north, one to the south, both are faint, small and round.

IC 492  Very faint, small and round at 165X.  This is a very
tough galaxy to spot even from a dark site.  It was averted
vision only and thumping the tube seemed to help the contrast.

IC 2392  Faint, pretty small, round and somewhat brighter in the
middle at 220X.  This galaxy is easier to spot with Delta (?)
Cancer out of the field of view.

IC 2409  Extremely faint, pretty small, elongated 1.5 X 1 in PA 90
and very slightly brighter in the middle at 100X.

PK 219+31.1  or Abell 31  Extremely faint, large, round and not
brighter in the middle at 100X.  There are 3 stars involved with
the nebulosity, this is using a UHC filter.  Realizing that this
was going to be a low surface brightness object, I first searched
for it at 60X.  When I was able to see it with averted vision, I
switched to 100X for the observation, but it is tough to see at
either power.  All I could observe is an irregularly round dull
glow that is about 10 arc minutes in size.






Double Stars

Zeta CNC  This triple consists of a wide pair (6") that I could
easily split at 135X.  They are white and yellow.  The tighter
pair is one arc second and could be notched at 220X and split
about 10 percent of the time on a night I rated 6/10 for seeing.

24 CNC  Split at 135X, both yellow, an almost matched pair.

PHI CNC  Split at 135X, both white, a nice matched pair, looks
like oncoming car headlights.

Struve 1246  Split at 135X, light yellow and light blue.

Struve 1245  Easy split at 100X, white and light yellow.

Iota CNC  Wide pair at 100X, light yellow and light blue.

57 CNC  Notched at 135X, spilt at 220X, both stars are a nice,
dark yellow.

66 CNC  Just barely split at 135X, better at 220X.  White and
light blue, with a nice star chain involved.

Struve 1311  Easy at 135X, matched white pair.  There is a
distant comes of approximately 13th mag, separation 30" and
PA 100 degrees.

Struve 1322  Notched at 135X, split at 220X.  Both blue-white,
a nice matched pair.

Struve 1327  Just split at 135X, better at 220X.  A triple star
that is a yellow primary and two blue companions.


Red stars

X CNC  Medium Orange star in a fairly rich field.
